History of Haka-Abstract
The goal of this website is to explain the Haka that the Māori people perform and the importance behind this ritual. Dance has been used as a way of expression as well as a form for folklore. I will be explaining the rich and colorful history behind the Haka. From the spiritual aspect that the Haka represents to the sacred spaces where this ritual is performed, and what the purpose behind these elaborate dances were for.

About Me
Why did I choose Haka?
I am deeply passionate about more than just Haka. I love to study Māori culture. My passion for Māori culture started with my mother. She loved to study history and one of her favorite activities was to trace back our family line. She started with our Hawaiian ancestry and followed it back through the years until she ended up in New Zealand. Then, she began to study the Māori people, who they were, what they did, and their folklore. That's where my love for Māori culture started, through my mom.
